Transcranial magnetic stimulation is a painless, FDA-approved procedure used to treat symptoms of depression. TMS is generally used when medications don’t help with symptoms of depression. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

8 weeks, 90 mi. 1x weekly - $500*

Thursdays 3:30-5:00 pm - PST

Over two decades of empirical studies show that MBSR can reduce anxiety, alleviate depression and physical pain, and improve general well-being. In this time-proven course, you will learn secular mindfulness practices that can help you live more fully in the present moment and cope more effectively with the stressors in your life. The experiential practices taught in each session will also emphasize compassionate ways of caring for yourself so that you can learn to live with greater balance, ease, and peace of mind.

PSYCHIATRIST, FOUNDER OF THE MOMENT

Stacy Cohen, MD is a double board certified general and addiction psychiatrist, licensed in both New York and California. She completed her residency training at the University of Chicago and Rush University, where she was the chief of reproductive psychiatry. She completed her addiction fellowship at UCLA Medical Center, where she currently holds a teaching faculty appointment. Dr. Cohen founded The Moment after feeling frustrated with the fragmentation of mental health care in the outpatient setting. She believes the best treatment comes from a collaborative approach. Thus, she created a community of top-notch mental health professionals working together in a shared space.

By approaching mental health issues from biological, psychological, social, and spiritual perspectives, Dr. Cohen creates the truly integrative approach necessary to build lasting recovery from complex conditions. She offers private sessions for medication management and/or psychotherapy as well as consultation and referral services to help determine the most appropriate recovery programs for you and your loved ones.

As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Trained Mindfulness Facilitator from UCLA’s Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, Mary Ann takes a whole person approach to well-being. Working with others to help them reduce anxiety, improve mood, step out of destructive behavior, and make skillful, healthy choices is her passion. She blends classical teachings drawn from her training in Japan with secular mindfulness, self-compassion practices, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Mary Ann is skilled in working with the LGBTQ+ population and has a specialized master’s degree in Affirmative Psychotherapy. Mary Ann is available to see teens and adults and offers EMDR, couples and group therapy & courses.

Early in her career, Ashlee achieved success as an Emmy award winning makeup artist, working in TV and film for 23 years, where she functioned as both an artist and an educator. Her glamorous lifestyle eventually came to an end because of her struggles with addiction and she had to eventually seek treatment. Through personal experience, she saw an opportunity to help people and make a difference by entering the field of mental health andaddiction.

Since joining the field in 2013 Ashlee has gained experience as a program coordinator, drug and alcohol counselor, mentor, coach, case manager and earnedher CATC-1.Her greatest reward is seeing the progression of the individuals that she works withevery day. “I love working in this industry because I get to watch the light return to someone’s face."
